A Man with a Servant’s Heart
Meet Our Staff - November 2008

Darryl Clark – Men’s Dayroom Supervisor
Everything falls under the job description

We were happy to recently celebrate three years of service to the Mission by Darryl Clark, Men’s Dayroom Supervisor. Darryl came to work here wanting a change…and change he found. Because of working at the Albuquerque Rescue Mission, he now understands the homeless. He says, “ I treat them differently after learning what makes them homeless. My preset ideas on what homeless people were like, or what made them homeless, changed dramatically when I started working here.” Darryl had no idea of the amount of service there is at the Mission for the homeless men, women, and children of Albuquerque. Shaking his head while remembering, Darryl said, “ I was amazed at the depth of service from the staff, the volunteers, and the programs.”

Darryl’s co-workers agree whole-heartedly with Rene Palacios saying, “Darryl has become an invaluable member of the Programs staff. He is someone that personifies the line that is in every one of A.R.M.’s job descriptions that reads, “Other responsibilities assigned and not limited to those above.” I can and have asked Darryl to perform many duties that fall under that category and he is always more than willing to help." Darryl desires to take what he learns here at the Mission and send it out in even more ministries to the homeless, through his life and his church. Thank you, Darryl for your servant heart. It is well treasured by all of us at the Mission and those you work so very hard for the homeless in our community.

"Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

3 John 1:8
